Meet the Finalists - The North West's Next Generation of Innovators

ree

The future of innovation is looking bright in Derry ~ Londonderry and Strabane!

Hightop is excited to introduce the young people, aged 15–20, who are leading the way - full of ideas, creativity, and ambition.

Through our partnership with TechTides, these young innovators have had the chance to bring their ideas to life and take the first steps toward turning their concepts into reality. Each finalist submitted a short, 90-second video pitch outlining:

  • The challenge or problem they want to solve

  • Their idea or solution

  • Who is in their team

  • Why they believe they can make it work

From tackling everyday challenges to imagining entirely new possibilities, these finalists have developed solutions that could truly make a difference — for people, communities, and the planet.

The winners will be revealed live at TechTides Youth at North West Regional College on November 18th, from 10am–12pm. The winning team will receive £500 and a place on the Hightop Accelerator Programme, which begins in January 2026 and runs for six months. This programme provides guidance, support, and the tools to help young people turn their ideas into real projects that can make a difference.
