The More Team
Meet the disruptors. We first crossed paths with the MORE crew at Catalyst’s Generation Innovation — a bunch of Lower 6th students from four schools (Foyle College, Limavady Grammar, Lumen Christi College, and St Killians College) with a BOLD ambition: to take on the mountain of e-waste piling up in our world.
Instead of shrugging at the problem, they went all in. They secured their spot on Hightop’s Idea Acceleration Programme — and that’s where the fun (and the graft) began.
The Mission
MORE isn’t just about recycling. It’s about reimagining. Their vision:
Upcycle electronics into new products instead of sending them to landfill.
Smash barriers by bringing more women into tech.
Build a greener, more inclusive future where waste becomes creativity and opportunity.
The Hustle
Here’s what this team of A-Level students pulled off:
Conducted serious market research.
Created the MORE brand.
Develop a digital presence.
Refined their solution into something real and scalable.
Developed a range of upcycled products (from jewellery to reworked electronics).
Pitched MORE to business, sustainability, and civic leaders.
Spoke at climate change conferences and enterprise events.
Generated actual income from sales.
Got experience that will supercharge their CVs, uni applications, and future careers.
And yeah — had a ton of fun doing it.
The Impact
MORE is more than just a student project. It’s a proof point that young people can flip the script on rampant consumerism and waste in the electronics sector. They’re sourcing reclaimed materials, experimenting with new products, and carving out pathways for women in tech that didn’t exist before.
